What is PrescribeIT®?

Prescribers enabled with PrescribeIT® will have the ability to send electronic prescriptions directly from their Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to the patient’s pharmacy of choice. Pharmacies that are PrescribeIT® enabled will also be able to receive and process these electronic prescriptions.

With the integration into PharmaClik Rx, it will remove the need for the paper prescription to be exchanged. Electronic prescriptions enable pharmacies to manage their workflow more effectively as it eliminates the line-up of patients dropping off prescriptions. In addition, PrescribeIT® helps to ensure patient compliance as pharmacies have the ability to follow-up with patients that have not picked up their prescription(s) within a short period of time.

PrescribeIT® will also help streamline the data entry process by auto populating key data elements needed for the medication order to be processed within PharmaClik Rx, which in turn helps reduce errors that are typically associated with data entry transcription mistakes.

Warning In Prince Edward Island, some features such as sending Authorization Requests and Clinician Communications through PrescribeIT® are not available due to EMR limitations. When a feature is not available, you will see an error if you attempt to use it. This is expected and will not affect your ability to process prescriptions.
